Introduction of Power of Reading Scheme
This has shown an increase in writing scores in all 3 Key Stages.
Whole School Timetable Change
Changing the time of Collective Worship to the afternoon gives more time in the morning for writing opportunities.
Outdoor learning linked to classroom opportunities for further development. Children are excited about writing about their experiences.
Greater focus on Reasoning and Problem Solving. Children are more resilient in tackling more difficult questions.
The school has been very fortunate to have been accepted on the Primary Mathematics Teaching for Mastery Work groups for next year. Members of staff will work with the White Rose Maths Hub to introduce and develop approaches to teaching for mastery.
Linking Schools Programme
We have been accepted on the programme for September. Year 4 will be paired with another Calderdale school and will develop links together.
