What we’ve been doing…
Trans-Pennine Route Upgrade
Year 3 received a visit from Karl, who is part of the Transpennine Route Upgrade team. We learnt about the changes that are being made and why, all the different jobs involved in the upgrade and many interesting facts too.
Freeze Frame
In Year 3, we have started reading the book, Stone Age Boy. In today's English lesson, the children had to act out the different images shown on page 11. The children had lots of fun recreating the character's poses and expressions, but found it hard not to burst into fits of giggles at times!
A Pakistan Presentation
This week, Umar delivered a PowerPoint presentation to the class as part of his homework project. He taught us lots about Pakistan and his life over there and the children enjoyed asking him lots of questions. Umar even brought in some food for us all to try which was delicious!
Forest School -trip 2
In our second visit to forest school, the children loved engaging with nature. They had lots of fun planting seeds and making some incredible natural sculptures!
A New Maths Teacher?
Harry demonstrated such a strong understanding of our maths problem that we invited him to take on the teacher's role and guide Year Three to the solution. He did a fantastic job and the class engaged extremely well!
Forest School - Trip 1
Year 3 thoroughly enjoyed their first trip to forest school. They collected acorns, climbed trees, set up a cafe and so much more!
Rocks
Year 3 loved exploring my collection of rocks in Science. They used magnifying glasses to take a closer look and then used a Rock Classification sheet to identify each type of rock they had been given.
